Here is a short summary of my planning and team-leading soft skills based on 10+ years of experience in over 14 projects:

    • Planning 

        • Separation and identification of sub-tasks for each particular bigger assignment. Example for library integration (driver or higher level):
          • interface analysis
          • identification of necessary wrapper levels in SW
          • projective definition of necessary work in hours based on 10 years of experience in the field
          • testing – with SIL/HIL and / or additional Unit test or Test application
          • final integration in SW
          • post-integration tests and documentation
        • Separation of complete project sub-tasks in HW-SW field. Example: Building a whole new device from scratch
          • Definition of main stages: basic functionality description, research for potential available HW for basic demo development, definition of necessary HW resources (incl. engineers)
          • Research for team building (HW and SW engineers, test team)
          • Initial HW building steps together with basic SW research – potential OS, available free and proprietary libraries, necessary development of custom drivers and SW
          • Basic integration of libraries
          • Development of initial complete SW suite together with real HW first boot tests
          • Further development of drivers and applications with state machines for main functionality
          • Development of correct tests during the main stage
          • Planning for potential new features addition for future releases
          • Finalizing HW development
          • Continuing and finalizing SW development with correct final testing and production testing
      • Separation of tasks in a team with monitoring of progress and intermediate results – assigning sub-tasks based on team members strong sides and background
    • Product oriented analysis 

      • Market research for available devices together with existing features and potential development of new features
      • Development with orientation to potential features addition
      • Product price and development – time and costs analysis, budget planning
    • Team Leading 

      • Experienced in communicating with multiple teams located locally and remotely
      • Capable of identifying motivation and demotivation cues, problems in communication between team members
      • With great experience in leading the people to focus on tasks and targets by providing them the correct background explanations (in order to prove the targets)
      • Capable of analyzing root-cause of delays and thus providing the additional resources necessary to reach the target on time – no matter if it is about people, tools, or even personal support
      • Experienced in concentrating and providing the necessary information for the whole team and specific members of it by establishing correct information flow, knowledge DB (e.g. by internal documenting required from the members in order to keep track of what is done, how it is done, where can one find the information and what has changed). Usually such unofficial documentation with HowTos is a lot easier to maintain compared to official documents. Nevertheless it requires some time to establish depending on the team experience, but proves really efficient in longer term, including when a member is missing due to vacation or other reasons
